Private family memorial service for the late Mrs. Hiroko Katayama, a 92-year-old, California-born, Nisei resident of Monterey Park and former internee of Manzanar Relocation Camp during WWII who passed away on February 20, 2013 was held at Fukui Mortuary "Chapel in the Garden" officiated by Rev. Taisen Miyata of Koyasan Buddhist Temple. In lieu of flowers or koden, the family kindly requests that donations be made to charities of your choice.

Mrs. Katayama is survived by her beloved husband, Chester Ikuya Katayama; son, Paul Ren Katayama; siblings, Florence (George) Sasabuchi, Lillian Kimura of New Jersey, Rosie (Lou) DiCerbo of New York; brother-in-law Kenji (Julie) Katayama; sister-in-law, Elsie Nagao. Also survived by many other family members.
