Hiroji Yamashita, a 94-year-old, California-born Nisei resident of Los Angeles, former internee of Heart Mountain during WWII who volunteered to serve his country in the highly-decorated "Go For Broke" 442 ^nd Regimental Combat Battalion, passed away peacefully at home on August 4, 2017.

Hiroji was predeceased by his son, Jim (April) Yamashita and his daughter, Kathy Yamashita. He is survived by his beloved wife, Alice; children, Gloria Yamashita, Peggy (Ivan) Pang and Judy (Scott) McClinton; grandchildren, Michael Yamashita, Byron Pang, Jeffrey Pang, Tracie Pang and Jennifer McClinton; siblings Lillian Komatsu and Miyo Abe; and many nieces, nephews and other family members.

A family memorial service will be held privately.
