Private funeral services for the late Mrs. Hideyo Sakaniwa, 93 year-old, Fresno born Nisei, resident of Los Angeles who passed away on January 1, 2015 were held January 17th at Fukui Mortuary "Chapel in the Garden" with Rimban William Briones of Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple officiating.
She is survived by her loving children, Akiko (James) Michiuye, Chieko (Stephen) Sugita and Calvin Sakaniwa; grandchildren, Kazumi (Craig) Koki, Kumi and Kayo Michiuye, Danise and Jillayne Sugita; great-grandchildren, Carolyn, Lila and Diana Koki; siblings, Tom Morihiro, Setsuko (Shigeru) Sato, Tetsuro (Kyoko) Morihiro; brother-in-law, Susumu Sasaki; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
