Hideo Tamura, 90, passed away on September 5, 2015 surrounded by family. Beloved husband of Alice Ayako Tamura; loving father of sons Daniel Tamura, Randall (Jane) Tamura, daughters Loreen Otake and Traci (Walter Jones) Tamura; grandchildren, Troy and Danica Tamura, Keaton and Kylie Otake, and Austyn, Kade and Kenedy Jones. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and relatives.

Born and raised in Huntington Beach, he was the last surviving son of the late Hisamatsu Tamura of Hisamatsu Tamura Elementary School in Fountain Valley. Hideo was a lifelong resident of Orange County. Hideo grew up on a farm and never lost his love of growing vegetables for his family and friends. Las Vegas held a special place in Hideo's heart where he married Alice 61 years ago and they continued to return frequently.

Hideo was an avid sports fan and loved cheering on his favored USC Trojans football team, UCLA Bruins basketball team, the Lakers and the Angels. "Pipa", as his grandchildren affectionately called him, was also a devoted fan of all his grandchildren's sports endeavors and could always be heard loudly encouraging them on from the stands. From his early days as a member of the Sashimi Anglers fishing club he loved taking annual family trout fishing trips. Hideo's family, relatives and friends will miss his bright smile and big heart.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 19, 10 a.m. at Wintersburg Presbyterian Church 2000 N. Fairview St., Santa Ana. Casual attire requested.
