Funeral services for the late Mrs. Helen Uyeno, a 93-year old San Pedro, California-born Nisei resident of Long Beach and former internee of Heart Mountain Relocation Camp during WWII who passed away peacefully on October 31, 2013, were held privately, officiated by Bishop Taisen Miyata of Koyasan Buddhist Temple.

Beloved mother of Richard (Janet) Uyeno, Katherine (Dick) Fukuda, James (Chris) and Sharon Uyeno; Proud and devoted grandmother of Brian (Allison), Scott, and Jeffrey Uyeno, Jason and Lissa Fukuda, Lauren and Keith Uyeno. Also survived by her sisters, Emiko Tanaka of Japan, and Eiko Matsunaga and many nieces, nephews and other relatives both here and in Japan.
