Funeral services for the late Helen Hatsumi Adler, 94-year-old, CA born resident of Los Angeles, who passed away on April 13, 2015, will be held on Saturday, April 25, 11 a.m. at Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple 815 E. First St., Los Angeles.

Helen was born in Venice, California to Sakiye and Chuhei Inatomi who were share croppers who then moved to Utah in 1930 to buy land and farm. After enduring very trying conditions they moved back to California shortly after the war. Helen was a world traveler a fantastic cook and had a passion for the dharma teachings. She was a most beautiful spirit who can best be described as compassionate and generous. She enjoyed good food with good wine shared with family and friends.

Helen was predeceased by her husband Sidney Adler, son George Phillip Richards, daughter Joyce Lee, step-sons Richard Adler and Peter Adler, and grandson Craig Lee; she is survived by her son Michael Richards and granddaughter Lauren Richards; son James (Annette) Richards and grandson Dalton Richards; daughter Nancy (Michael) Dubinksy and grandchildren Adam, Danielle and Alyse Dubinksky, and great-grandson Elijai; daughter-in-law, Karen Persy and grandson Tyron Richards; granddaughters Crystal and Nicole Lee; sister, Yoneko Kariya; step-daughter Patricia Adler, step granddaughter Jessica (J.J.) Bartlett and step-greatgrandchildren Jake and Molly Bartlett; step-granddaughter Sheri Harris; step-grandson Jeff Adler; step-granddaughters Joanna Alder and Melanie (David) Kosloff; step-great grandchildren Maddie, Ryan and Julia Kosloff; she is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
