Hazel Miyuki Higashi, 95, of Woodland Hills, California, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and was the youngest of four siblings. She graduated from Kaimuki High School and Philips Commercial School, where she majored in stenography. In 1954, Hazel moved to California and married Alfred K. Higashi in 1958. They shared 62 years of marriage until his passing in 2020. Hazel will be remembered for her thoughtfulness and her quiet acts of service, which deeply encouraged and uplifted her family and friends. She was an active member of the Woodland Hills Women’s Club for over 30 years. She is survived by her son, Douglas Higashi; daughter-in-law, Shari Fujii; and grandchildren, Shunji and Rina.
