Kihara, Hayako (88) passed away peacefully at her home in Arleta, CA after a brief illness on September 9, 2007.

Born in Los Angeles she was preceded in death by her husband Kenji Kihara. She is survived by sons Isamu (Hideko), Donald (Donna), Ken (Coleen), grandmother of Michelle (Shin) Taki, Michael, Marlene (David) Camara, Jim, Sarah, and great-grandson Ryan Taki. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and other relatives here and in Japan.

Friends and family visitation will be held at Fukui Mortuary "Chapel in the Garden" on Wednesday, September 19 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with a brief viewing ceremony from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 21 at 11:00 AM at Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, 815 East 1st Street in Los Angeles. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in the name of Hayako Kihara to the SFV Nikkei Senior Garden, c/o Harold Muraoka, 9400 Brightwood Court, Northridge, CA 91325.
