Harry Shizuto Hankawa, 90-year-old Lodi, Calif.-born Kibei Nisei and resident of Los Angeles (and long-time owner of S & M Nursery in West L.A.), passed away on December 30 at Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 6 from 7:30 p.m. at West L.A. United Methodist Church, 1913 Purdue Ave., L.A., under the direction of Fukui Mortuary.

He is survived by his wife, Shizue Hankawa; sons, Garry Tsuruo (Janice) Hankawa, Ken Kenji (Christine) Hankawa and John Jun (Christine) Ohashi; seven grandchildren; brother, Kay Kaoru Hankawa; and three other brothers in Japan; and other relatives.
