Harriet Kumagawa

February 11, 1932 – April 11, 2026

Harriet Kimiko Kumagawa, a 94-year-old longtime resident of Montebello, California, passed away peacefully on April 11th in Whittier.

A graveside service will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Garden of Prayer Lawn, on May 15th at 11 a.m.

Harriet was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to Yoshito and Hisayo Togo, and grew up in Kahuku. She worked as a homemaker, devoted to raising her children and maintaining connections with family and friends throughout Southern California and in Hawaii.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Kwanji Kumagawa; daughter Debbie Yamashita; and granddaughter Kristin Kumagawa. Survived by her sons, Mark (Cindy), Dean, Burt (Joni); grandchildren, Ashley, Emma, Jay and Kallyn; and brother, George Togo. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
