Obituary
Memorial services for the late Mr. Hodge Hajime Amemiya, 89 year old, who passed away on December 10,were held on Saturday, December 19 at Fukui Mortuary " Chapel in the Garden" officiated by Rev. Shumyo Kojima of Zenshuji Soto Mission of Los Angeles.
Hodge was a life time nurseryman and his accreditations include the patent on the most colorful clivia (Monya), and owner of the mother cherry blossom tree, the "Pink Cloud", offshoots of which can be seen at many locations around Southern California, including the South Bay Botanical Gardens.
He is survived by May Chitori, his wife of 63 years; sisters, Fujiko "Fudge" (Kay) Komura and Yuki Shibuya; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
