Grace Harumi Goto, 90 years old, resident of Sun Valley, CA, passed away on October 3, 2025.

Born as Harumi Kawakami, she married George Goto and immigrated to the United States at the age of 20.

She and her husband made their home in West Los Angeles, California, and were blessed with two sons, Steven Minoru Goto and Michael Mitsuru Goto.

In 1961, she became a citizen of the United States and legally changed her name to Grace Harumi Goto.

In 1963, Harumi and George purchased property in Sun Valley, California, where they relocated and established Goto Nursery. They successfully operated the business for more than 30 years before retiring. During this time, their family grew with the arrival of two additional children, Amy Emi Goto and Wayne Shigeki Goto.

Throughout her life, she was known for her strong work ethic and unwavering dedication to her family and community. Together with her husband, George, she was active in numerous clubs and social activities, forming lasting friendships and connections. After retiring, she embraced a life filled with travel and new experiences. One of her greatest joys was visiting Las Vegas, a favorite destination she enjoyed monthly.

Harumi's love, passion, and steadfast devotion in the Seicho-no-Ie's teaching were a guiding influence through many significant milestones.

A quote commonly said to her children: "If you believe you are a child of God, only good things will come".

She is survived by her sons, Michael Goto and Wayne Goto; daughter, Amy (Goto) Iwashina; grandchildren, Stephanie Iwashina and Christie Iwashina. She is also survived by her loving daughter in-laws; Kathi (Omoto) Goto, April (Mayeda) Goto and many family members residing in Japan.
