YAMAMOTO, GEORGE T. passed away peacefully at his home in Oxnard on November 4, 2013 at age 79. George was born in West Los Angeles in 1934 and moved with his family to Utah during the War. He returned to LA and later attended UCLA for 3 years before graduating from UC Davis in 1955 with a BS in Agricultural Economics. He served in the US Military from 1956 to 1958, and moved to Ventura County in 1962 where he grew vegetables and eventually strawberries exclusively until his retirement in 1999. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Susan Yamamoto; children, Aimee (Bill) Stoll, Glen (Audrey), Denise (Josh Hannah), and Bruce (Audrey) Yamamoto; grandchildren, Jessica, Lauren, Krista, Nick, Brooke, Amanda, Jordan, Kenzo, Sachi, Mika, Jaden, and Justin; he is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives.


Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 7, 10:00 AM at Konko Church of Gardena 15722 S. Normandie Ave., Gardena.
