Private funeral services for the late Mr. George Toshimi Shintaku, 92-year old Auburn, California -born Nisei resident of Los Angeles, former Tule Lake internee, U.S. Army veteran and Garrett AiResearch retiree, were held at Fukui Mortuary "Chapel in the Garden" officiated by Rev. George T. Matsubayashi, BCA Minister Emeritus on behalf of the West Los Angeles Buddhist Temple.

Mr. Shintaku is survived by his loving wife, Hisako Shintaku; children, Linda (Steven Toshi) Miyagawa, and Steve (Marianne) Shintaku; grandchildren Robyn and Lesley Miyagawa and USMC Lance Corporal Zachary Sprague; sisters, Shizue Matsubara and predeceased by Michiye Hanamoto and Hisaye Shintaku; brothers, Masami (Mike) Shintaku and Katsumi (Joe) Shintaku; sisters-in-law and brothers in-law, Mitzi (Tsuchii) Miyawaki and Tom Miyawaki, Sachi and Kay Tsuchii, and Yasuko Shintaku; nieces and nephews.
