George "Joe" Okamoto, 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 13, 2006, with his devoted family at his side. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Lillian; daughter Jan, sons Geody (Lynn), and Randy Okamoto; grandchildren Kacie, Andie, and Bryan Lew; Matthew, Daniel, Nikki and Grant Okamoto; and devoted dog and guardian, Amber. He is also survived by brothers Bill, Jack, and Richard Okamoto; sisters Tamaye (Raymond) Kobata, Grace (Jimmy) Fujikawa; in-laws Kiyoshi, Charlie (Violet), Satoru (Alice), Toshio, Tats (Tomeko), James (Sue), George (Myrtle), and Kazue Okuhara, Haruko Gakiya, Albert Chun, Doris (Warren) Hatamoto; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 29, 2006, 11:00am at Gardena Valley Baptist Church 1630 W. 158th St., Gardena, CA, under the direction of Fukui Mortuary. Burial service will be held Saturday, September 30, 11am at Rose Hills Memorial Park 3888 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, CA, Winter Terrace.
