Private memorial services for the late George Norichika Minami, 94-year-old, California born resident of Gardena, who passed away peacefully on July 21, 2017, were held on August 1, 2017 at Fukui Mortuary "Chapel in the Garden" with Rimban William Briones of Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple officiating.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Emiko Maeda and brother, Itsufumi Oyama.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Seiko Minami; son, Edward (Virginia) Minami; daughter, Linda (Hiroshi) Wakamoto; grandchildren, Scott and Alyssa Minami, Christina (Robert) Yee; sisters, Sayoko (Takeo) Akasaki and Akiko Saiki; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
