Funeral service for George Minakawa 81-year-old resident of Montebello who passed away on Aug. 21, 2011 at Hollenbeck Palms Nursing Home, will be held on Monday, Aug. 29 from 11:00 AM at Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, 815 E. First St., Los Angeles. The family requests that flowers please be omitted.

He is survived by his wife, Haruko Minakawa; son, Garret (Kris) Minakawa; 3 grandchildren; brothers, Takashi and James Minakawa; sister, Hideko (Toshinori) Saruwatani; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
