Funeral services for the late George Shigeru Matsuoka, 87-year-old Isleton, Calif.-born Kibei and resident of Monterey Park who passed away on August 31 at Garfield Medical Center, will be held on Friday, September 7, 10:30 a.m. at Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, 815 E. 1st St., L.A., under the direction of Fukui Mortuary.

Predeceased by his wife, Kiyoko Shimada Matsuoka (September 14, 2006), he is survived by his daughter, Pamela S. Matsuoka (Gen Fujioka); sons, Gary (Nancy), Rodney (Stacy) and Richard Matsuoka; 4 grandchildren; and brothers, Iwao, Hiroo and Mikio Matsuoka, all of Japan.
