A private service for the late Garry Shinichi Tanaka, 82-year-old, Salt Lake City, Utah born, resident of Lomita, who passed away on May 15, 2026, was held on Friday, June 19th at Gardena Valley Baptist Church in Gardena.

Predeceased by parents, Jeff and Midori Tanaka; he is survived by his beloved wife, Sue Tanaka; children, Lisa (Mike) Tom, Julie Tanaka, Wendy (Kevin) Cruzado, and Michael Tanaka; 8 grandchildren; siblings, Kenny (Karen), Ronnie (Janice) and Charlene Tanaka; he is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
