Fumiko Higashi (93) passed away peacefully at home in her sleep on June 14, 2015, predeceased by her husband Akitoshi. Private graveside funeral services were conducted at Green Hills Memorial Park by Rev. Clif Ishigaki on June 27. Survived by son Akio Steven Higashi (Cheryl), grandchildren, Grant Higashi (Sophea), Leslie Tsubaki (Chad), great granddaughters, Alyssa and Kamryn Higashi, sister-in-law Ayako Higashi and many nieces and nephews. The family requests any tributes be directed to the Japanese American National Museum in her memory.
