Fujiko Nakatani
July 27, 1933 – April 19, 2021
Fujiko Nakatani, 87 passed away peacefully April 19, 2021 surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband Katsuya Nakatani, children Natalie Takako(David), Joanne Michiko (Dana) Swart, Glenn Katsuhiro; grandchildren Nathan and Hailey Swart.
Fujiko was born in Monrovia July 27, 1933 to Sadao & Sadayo Kakiuchi. She was always the cornerstone for our family. She was essential in the inner workings of the family nursery business, and, additionally, worked for 19 years with the County of Los Angeles.
She loved music, nature, and was an avid gardener. She loved watching her hummingbirds and had a special Black Phoebe that would visit her often.
She was always young at heart and enjoyed all the little details in life. She had a great sense of humor that made everyone enjoy being in her company. Her open-minded creativity and interest in trying new things made her an excellent cook and resourceful in a pinch. She'd often say "its Common sense" when she was being clever but then she'd follow with a smile and giggle.
She is a beautiful soul who is missed immensely. She taught us honor, grace, endurance, and forgiveness; but she also instructed us that you should never miss the opportunity to have fun.
She is forever in our hearts.
Her family appreciates everyone's thoughts and prayers. A celebration of her life is being planned by her family.
