Private funeral services for the late Frederick Katsuichi Tamashiro were held at Fukui Mortuary "Chapel in the Garden" officiated by Rev. Koho Takata  of Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple.


Mr. Tamashiro was an 85-year-old, Honolulu, Hawaii-born Sansei resident of Long Beach. He honorably served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Mr. Tamashiro passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 27, 2014.

Mr. Tamashiro was the beloved husband of Florence Chizuko Tamashiro ; devoted father of Davin Mitsuaki (Keila) Tamashiro and Keith Masato Tamashiro ; proud grandfather of Ailani Maya Tamashiro ; loving brother of Grace (Bert) Maeyama, Beatrice Yata of Hawaii, and Florence (Jack) Wakayama. Mr. Tamashiro is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, friends and extended relatives both locally and in Hawaii.
