Fred Kohno passed away peacefully on May 3, 2018 surrounded by his family, at the age of 97. He is survived by his children, Scott (Wendy), Suzie (Alan Tan); grandchildren, Remi and Trenton Kohno; and other relatives.

After serving in the U.S. Army, he graduated from UC Berkeley and worked as a civil engineer for 39 years. "Gracious living" was his favorite way to describe his enjoyment for fine dining and his cocktail of choice, the Martini. Ballroom dancing, vegetable gardening, woodworking and absolute love for his granddogs, Gracie, Kizzie, Frankie and Logan were his favorite pastimes.

At his request a private burial at sea in the Santa Monica Bay was held on June 10, 2018.
