Funeral service for the late Mr. Fred Akira Kitada, 95 year-old Los Angeles born Nisei of South Pasadena who passed away on July 6th will be held on Saturday, July 19, 7:00 PM at Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple, 505 E. Third St., in Los Angeles. Fred honorably served in the 442nd RCT during WWII and was awarded a Bronze Star and Congressional Gold Medal for his service to our country.

The family kindly request the omission of flowers.

He is survived by his loving family, son, David (Jocelyn) Kitada; daughter, Joanie (Johnny) Martinez; grandchildren, Heather and Laurel Kitada, Brion and Russell Martinez; brother-in-law, Kazuo Joe Hamai; also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
