Mr. Frank Saburo Shibata, 89-year old, Nisei resident of South Pasadena died peacefully on August 28, 2009. Mr. Shibata grew up in Indio, California, was a former Poston, Arizona internee, U.S. Army veteran, and held degrees from the University of Southern California and Harvard School of Business. He owned and operated Calstate Produce Co. in Los Angeles for many years before his retirement.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sumiko; children, Stephen, Darryl, Donna, Jeffrey and Gail; and grandchildren, Benjamin, Emily, Renae, Kaylyn, Aaron, Miriam, Andrew, Nathan, Timothy, Matthew, Ryan and Claire; brothers Charlie and Henry, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Private funeral services were held at the Centenary United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Mark Nakagawa.
