Frances Atsuko Yamamoto was born June 2, 1931, in Hollister, California to Minoru Alfred and Masako Takechi. She left us on July 14th to be with her husband, Kunio Yamamoto, who preceded her death in 2001. She was a longtime resident of La Palma, California.
Frances was dedicated to staying home and raising her 5 children. When they were old enough she went to work in Public Relations for the City of Los Angeles. In retirement she continued to be dedicated to her family and loved to travel around the world with her husband, family and friends.
She will be remembered by all for her warmth, generosity and positive outlook on life. She was a devout Catholic and loved being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Kunio. She is survived by her brother Harry and sister Terri, her children David (Denise), Tom (Elizabeth), Paul (Janice), Laura (Richard), and Anne; her grandchildren Shane, Heather, Kristen, Chanel, Brendan, Kevin, Scott, Kyle, Kyra, and Jacob; her great grandchildren Peyton and Tyler, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Frances' life will be held on August 26, 2016, at 8:30 a.m. at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church located at 5201 Evergreen Ave., Cypress, CA 90639, 714-826-0760. There will be a reception afterwards. In lieu of flowers please send donations in memory of Frances to the American Lung Association (800) LUNGUSA.
