Surrounded by her loved ones, Florence Tanaka passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024, at the age of 84.
Florence was a native of Southern California, born on September 27, 1939. Her family evacuated from Orange County to live in Utah during World War II. After the war, her family relocated back to Cypress, where she earned a B.S degree from UCLA and met her husband, Richard.
Richard and Florence remained in Cypress to raise their three children. Florence was well known in the community as a former Cypress College instructor and accomplished Real Estate Broker passionately serving the surrounding community for over 45 years.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Richard and brothers Eddie and George. She is survived by Eddie's wife, Mary. She is also survived by her loving family: son, Troy (Carolyn) Tanaka; daughter, Tiffani Tanaka; son, Trent (Brenda) Tanaka; grandchildren, Devin and Kai Tanaka; brothers, Harry (Linda) Tanaka, Frank (Leslie) Tanaka; sister, Joyce (Oscar) Fong; along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Their joy and achievements meant the world to her, and she never missed an opportunity to celebrate their milestones. Florence's faith in God grew stronger as she faced life's challenges. In her later years, she found immense comfort and strength in her daily prayers with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
