Family Memorial Services for the late Mrs. Elma Michiko Arao, an 87-year-old, Pahala, Hawaii-born Nisei resident of Los Angeles who passed away on May 12, 2013 will be conducted privately, officiated by Rev. Jim Miyabe of Venice-Santa Monica Free Methodist Church. At the request of the family, please kindly omit flowers due to allergy concerns.


Mrs. Arao was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard Ichiro Arao. She is survived by her children, Luanne Shigeno (Joseph) MacDougall, Gayle Fumie (Daniel) Kikuta, Diane Tatsue (John) Mueller and Reggie Masanobu Arao; grandchildren, Christine Nicole Ando and David Masao Kikuta; sister, Dorothy Otsuka of Hawaii. Also survived by many nieces & nephews and other relatives both here and in Hawaii.
