Eiko Kitagawa, 95, resident of Montebello passed away November 21.

Born in Mie, Japan, Eiko will be remembered by family and friends for her strength, courage, and being a loving mother. She was a great cook, enjoyed arts and crafts, recognized for her gateball and sumi-e calligraphy skills, and loved to travel with friends.

Eiko is predeceased by husband Yoshimasa Kay; stepdaughters Teruko Lois (Elman) Padilla and Junko Ruth; brothers and sisters and is survived by brother, Osamu Kobayashi; sisters-in-law, Miyo Nakamura and Sueko Nakamura; son, David (Kathleen) Kitagawa; daughter, Cathy Kitagawa-Yamasaki; grandsons, Wesley and Bryce Kitagawa, Kyle and Ryan Yamasaki; and many other relatives and friends in Japan and USA.

Due to the COVID-19 condition, the family will have a private graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery in Los Angeles at a future date.
