Donald H. Webb of Torrance, California, died on November 15, 2018, at age 86.   Donald was born in 1932 in Lansing, Michigan, to Daniel Webb and Charlotte (Hammond) Webb.  After graduating from Okemos High School in 1949, he studied at MSU, UCLA, and then Caltech, where he earned a doctorate in Physics in 1965.

In 1963 Donald married Shimako Hanaoka, having met at UCLA through a mutual friend. They had two children, Warren and Janet.  Shimako died in 1987 after a battle with cancer and has been dearly missed by her husband and children.

After 36 years at Hughes Aircraft, Donald retired in 1992.  In retirement he returned to his childhood love of music, studying classical piano at the Wenjen Piano Studio where he received the Outstanding Musician Award many times and enjoyed performing in recitals. Donald was also active in the Caltech Alumni Association and volunteered at local high schools for Cal State Los Angeles's preparatory program.

Donald is survived by his sister Carol Webb Sparrow, and his children, Warren Webb and Janet Webb.  Interment will be at Foote Cemetery in Williamston, Michigan.
