David Shunji Tamura, age 79, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2018.  Beloved husband of Linda Tamura; father of Steven (Jadene), Kenneth (Manjula), Scott (Julie) Tamura, and Kimi (Ted) Yu; grandfather of Renae and Noelle Tamura, Kyle and Malia Yu, and Arun and Priya Tamura; and survived by his brothers Paul (Yoshie) and Brian (Seiko), nieces, nephews and other relatives.

David attended Newport Harbor High School from 1952-1956 and Orange Coast College from 1956-1958.  He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from San Jose State College in 1961 and became a civil engineer for the CA State Department of Transportation in San Francisco.  In 1975 he joined his father's retail furniture business and moved with the family to Irvine. In 2006, after 31 years, he retired as the owner of the East-West Furniture Store in Anaheim.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 9, 11 a.m. at Wintersburg Presbyterian Church 2000 N. Fairview St. in Santa Ana.
