David Wayne Sugimura, 69-year-old California-born resident of Torrance, who passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, at Little Company of Mary Medical Center.

He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and playing tennis. David was the eldest of 7 children in his family.

He is predeceased by brothers, Paul Sugimura and Charles Sugimura; stepson, Grant Nagai; and niece, Stephanie Sugimura.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Eileen Sugimura; daughter, Jessica Sugimura; and stepson, Keith Nagai.

Also, he is survived by sisters, Nancy (Craig) Inouye, Diane (Paul) Garcia, Linda Sugimura and Jennifer Sugimura.

In addition, he leaves behind nephews, Ryan (Alessa) Inouye and Derrick Sugimura; niece, Caitlin Sugimura; and nephew, Sean (Tanya) Yokota.

The private service was held on August 8.
