David Isamu Matsumoto, 70, born in Gila River concentration camp in Arizona on August 27, 1944, passed away on March 22, 2015. Despite the challenges faced as a special needs adult, he delighted his caregivers at several Orange County board and care facilities with his knowledge of Japanese, fondness for Superman comic books, Johnny Cash tunes and his vivid memories of growing up in Gardena.

Predeceased by parents, Katsutoshi "Joe" and Emi Oishi Matsumoto, he is survived by cousins, Bob Seki, Howard and John Esaki (Amy Kato).
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 24th, Rev. Roland Hazama officiating, at Pacific Crest Cemetery, 2701 182nd Street, Redondo Beach CA 90278.
