Obituary
DAVID J. ARAKAKI, 85,
Hawaii-born Veteran of the U.S. Army, passed away on May 3, 2010. He was a loving husband, caring father, and doting grandfather whose devotion to his family came before all else. David is survived by his wife of 57 years, Tomiko; daughters Cindy (Michael) Ortiz and Janice Arakaki; grandchildren, Kaylee, Kai, and Chloe Ortiz; sisters, Shizuko Yamauchi, Violet (Teimei) Chena, and Nancy Goya. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Annie and Ellen Arakaki and by his many adoring nieces, nephews, and relatives here and in Hawaii. David was preceded in death by his brothers, Patrick and Eugene Arakaki.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 14, 10:00 AM, at the Gardena Buddhist Church, 1517 W. 166th St., Gardena, CA 90247.
Burial services will be held at a later date.
The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted.
