Daniel Minoru Yoshida passed away at PIH Health Whittier Hospital on February 19, 2021 from complications of COVID-19. Daniel was the second of five children born to Juzo Yoshida and Kimiye (Nomoto) Yoshida in Los Angeles, California.

Daniel graduated from Montebello High School and California State University at Los Angeles where he also received his teaching credentials.  He married his high school sweetheart, Susan Kariya and they had two children, Christine and Mark. On February 5, 2021, Daniel and Susan celebrated their 50 ^th Wedding Anniversary.

Daniel taught history, math, and physical education for the Montebello Unified School District for 32 years while also working at United Parcel Service for 27 years. When not working, he enjoyed playing baseball, tennis, and going on fishing trips with Susan, Christine, Mark, his brothers and cousins. When Daniel retired, he enjoyed attending recitals and sporting activities of his four grandchildren, playing golf, fishing, biking, gardening, and walking his devoted dogs.

Daniel was a loving, devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was kind and giving to his family, friends, and neighbors. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Predeceased by his parents and his brother, Larry. Daniel is survived by his wife, Susan; his daughter, Christine (Andrew) Chen; his son, Mark; his grandchildren, Annie Fanelli, Marke Fanelli, Joshua Chen and Zack Chen; brothers, Richard (Julie) and Thomas (Babs); sister, Jolene; sister-in-law, Geraldine (Reginald Bottger) Kariya; cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held in the future. Susan and her family wish to express their profound gratitude for all the prayers, words of comfort, and expressions of sympathy during this most difficult time.
