Claire Sekiguchi, a beloved wife, devoted mother, accomplished professional, world traveler, and gourmand, passed away on May 18, 2023, at the age of 84. She was born on October 4, 1938, to Shizuko and Dr. Henry Kawamoto Sr. in Long Beach and was raised in Boyle Heights, California. Claire later settled in the San Gabriel Valley, where she created a rich and fulfilling life surrounded by her loved ones.

Claire was of Japanese American heritage and took great pride in her cultural roots. She embraced her heritage with grace and dignity, carrying the spirit of her ancestors in her heart throughout her life. Claire was a loving wife to her husband and childhood sweetheart, Eugene, with whom she shared countless memories and built a lifetime of love.

Claire's thirst for exploration led her to become a world traveler, venturing to numerous destinations across the globe. She had a deep appreciation for different cultures, immersing herself in local customs and traditions. Through her travels, she cultivated a profound understanding and respect for the diverse beauty of our world.
