Chieko S. Inouye, a centenarian, passed away peacefully on December 28 th , 23 years to the day after her beloved husband, Dr. Milton M. Inouye, passed.
She was born in Anaheim, CA and lived her entire life in California, except during WWII when she attended Temple University (BA 1945). She also received a BA degree and attended graduate school at USC. She worked as a social worker for Los Angeles County (1946-1954) including the newly founded Bureau of Adoptions.
She is predeceased by her five brothers: George (Yoshiko), Kiyoshi (Misako), Toru (Marian), Hideo, and Dr. William (Sharon) Shigekawa. She is survived by her daughters: Emily (David) Cook, Dr. Carolyn Inouye, and Marianne Inouye. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and other relatives. A graveside service was held at Green Hills Memorial Park on January 11, 2021.
