Charlie Katayama, 87, born in Salinas CA, and longtime residence of Garden Grove, passed away on January 7, 2016. Services were held on Thursday, January 14 at Westminster Memorial Park chapel with Rev. Cliff Ishigaki officiating. He is predeceased by first wife Joan and second wife Miyuki; sister, Jane Watanabe and brother, Joe Katayama. He is survived by his loving sons, Brian (Renee) and Dean (Jill) Katayama; daughter Ako (Dale) Murphy; grandchildren, Valerie Katayama and Trevor Murphy; sister, Yo (Dick) Miyoshi and brother, Mack Katayama; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
