Carol Hanako Tanaka Carol Tanaka passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 27th, 2026, at the age of 92 in La Palma, California. She is survived by her husband, Masami “Sam” Tanaka; sons, Paul (Edita) Tanaka, Wayne (Coleen) Tanaka, John (Jill) Tanaka, and Michael (Jodi) Tanaka; grandchildren, Taryn, Raeleen, Kailee, Jamie, Tyler, Brandon, and Nolan; also survived by her nieces, Stephanie Nakamura and Susan Brown, and other extended relatives. Carol was born on March 7th, 1934, in Santa Monica, CA and spent most of her later childhood and teens in Salt Lake City, UT. She then moved to Los Angeles, CA, where she met her husband, and settled down in Cerritos, CA. Carol worked as a nurse for over 30 years and made many friends over the course of her career and during her retirement years. Her favorite pastimes and hobbies included making and sharing recipes, cooking, crocheting and knitting, bowling, skiing, and fishing. A viewing will be held at Fukui Mortuary on May 3rd, 2026, from 3 PM to 5 PM.
