Obituary

Bob Takara Tsuchiyama passed away on Oct. 16, 2006 in Gardena, CA he was the youngest child of Yuichi and Suzue Tsuchiyama. In 1937, he joined his siblings Toshihiko, Kazue and Fumiko, growing up in Los Angeles, CA.
Bob was your typical American boy enjoying sporting and social activities with his neighborhood and church friends. He showed an affinity for gymnastics and competed during his high school years. He also was a proud letterman and member of the Roosevelt High football team. Bob continued his studies at Cal State L.A.
Despite the obstacle of being interned at Poston, AZ during the war, he was a proud and loyal American that served in the U.S. Army.
Shortly after, Bob and Emilia started a family. His Sunday morning breakfasts with family will not be forgotten. Bob chose careers that always put his family first. He showed leadership, integrity and respect that inspired all those around him in the workplace. He was also a great influence to the neighborhood youth as he coached their sports.
Retirement gave Bob more time to spend with his family. He was an active grandparent to his six grandchildren.
The community will miss his kindness, generosity and love of life.
Bob is survived by his children, Kimberly (Jeff) Shine, Robert (Beth), Stephen (Stacey), six grandchildren, Hayley, Alexandra, Kyle, Jasper, Jaron and Spencer; 3 siblings; other relatives and special friend, Nancy Lim.
Services will be held Thursday, October 26th at 11:00 AM, at the First United Methodist Church of Santa Monica, 1008 11th Street, Santa Monica, California.
