Ayako Judy Kawai, age 80, Hyogo ken born, resident of Gardena, CA and Nampa, ID passed away peacefully on Monday, July 30, 2012. She is predeceased by her beloved son, Michael Kawai; survived by her beloved husband, George Shotaro Kawai; children, Aileen Kawai and Greg (Kirsten) Kawai; grandchildren, Beverly (Adam) Mullenix, Cason Kawai, Torin Kawai, Raith Kawai, and Gideon Kawai; siblings, Takako Aoki, Yasuaki (Takako) Tanaka and Keiko Endo all of Japan; brother-in-law, Sakae Aoyama of Washington; and sisters-in-law Tsuta Kawai and Grace (Junji) Yamamoto both of Idaho; and survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives both in Japan and the U.S.
A private gathering will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 11 a.m. at Fukui Mortuary "Chapel in the Garden" 707 E. Temple St., Los Angeles, CA 90012. A memorial service will be held at a future date, yet to be determined, in Nampa, Idaho.
