Obituary

Anna Mae Asako Tamaki, 99, passed away peacefully in her home on May 30, 2022. She was born to Mikaku and Umeno Fujino in Salinas, California. Anna Mae was a dancer, singer, and a successful business woman, having owned and operated dozens of properties in Southern California and Nevada. She was married to Carl Minoru Tamaki, who retired as the General Manager of the Department of Water and Power, and they had three children, Paul, Mary, and John.

Anna Mae enjoyed bridge, Dodger baseball, Korean soap operas, and above all spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren Bowie and Sonny.

Anna Mae is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Minoru, and son, John Carl. She is survived by her son, Paul Frank; daughter, Mary; son-in-law, Clint Green; grandson, Ian Minoru Green; grand-daughter in-law, Spencer Dolan Green; great-granddaughter Bowie Valentine Green and great-grandson Sonny Bloom Green. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Rosie (Mas) Uyeno and Sue Fujino, and many nieces, nephews and relatives. Her siblings and in-laws, James "Happo" Fujino, Thomas "Snubby" Fujino, Grace (Sumio) Nishi, Lorraine (George) Wakayama, John Masao (Kumiko) Fujino, Harry Kazuo Fujino, William "Bill" (Sue) Fujino, Mollie (Bob) Nakasaki, Betty Mae "Yo" (Dick) Sakamoto also preceded her in death. She was a very special woman and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

No services will be held. In lieu of gifts or koden, the family asks that donations be made to the Centenary United Methodist Church in Los Angeles.
