Private memorial gathering was held Wednesday, October 23 in Los Angeles. Amy Yoshinaga, 87, passed away on Oct. 13th, Christopher Columbus Day. Amy was born in Sacramento, CA, but grew up in LA. She was moved to Jerome, AR concentration camp during her high school years. She then moved to NYC where she spent most of her adult life before moving back to Los Angeles the last three years.
She is survived by brother, Tsugio John Yoshinaga (Lucienne) of NYC; sister, Aiko Herzig-Yoshinaga of Gardena, CA. Amy will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, caregivers and friends here in LA and on the East Coast. A gathering in NYC will be held at a later date.
