Obituary

Alice gMizh Tsukahara, 77, passed away on December 20, 2005, after a long illness. She is survived by her sister, Chiyoko Hiraoka and was preceded in death by her two brothers, Yoshikazu and Paul (Yoshihiro/Boake). Affectionately known as Auntie Miz, she was one of the favorite aunties of Naomi Imoriya (Tsukahara), Shelley Kurata (Hiraoka), Hiroshi Tsukahara, Trudy Hiraoka, Peggy Lamaysou (Hiraoka), Mardy Maehara (Tsukahara), Ken Tsukahara, and Louise Tsukahara. She also had eight grand-nieces and nephews.

Born on December 12, 1928 in Santa Barbara, she was interned during the war at Gila River, AZ, then re-settled in Gardena. Alice worked for the city of Gardena for over 30 years, most recently as deputy city treasurer. She had enjoyed her retirement spending time with her relatives and hobbies. She was well loved and respected by friends and family and her bubbly personality will be sorely missed.

Private internment services were held at Green Hill Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
