Alice Monden, 96, of Sierra Madre, California, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2021. She was born June 20, 1924, in Oxnard, California, to the late Hisaichi and Torako Monden. Alice studied at Huntington Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was then a guest of the U.S. government at Gila River Camp II,   followed by a short stay in Minnesota, and finally a return to California.

Alice loved to travel and was an enthusiastic photographer, often regaling the family with stories of Africa, Asia, and Europe. She loved going out to eat sushi with her friends and enjoyed waking early to see the sunrise over the nearby San Gabriel Mountains.

Predeceased by her three sisters, Mary Monden (Harry) Uozumi, Tae Monden (Toke) Yonekawa, and Kimie Monden, she is survived by three nephews, three nieces, several grandnieces, and grandnephews.
