Private memorial services for Akimasa Terry Futami, 85, born in Osaka, Japan and resident of Torrance, who passed away on March 18, were held on May 5 at Fukui Mortuary's "Chapel in the Garden". Mr. Futami was the long-serving manager of the West LA branch of Union Bank in the Sawtelle District, a community that was very dear to him.

He is survived by his wife, Reiko Futami; daughter, Carol Fujii; son, Norman (Jean) Futami; grandchildren, Amie and Erin Bissot, Gregory (fiancée Anebel) and Lauren Futami; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives here and in Japan.
