Private funeral services for the late Mrs. Aiko Tomoike, a 77 year old, Los Angeles, California-born Nisei resident of Gardena and former internee of Heart Mountain Relocation Camp in Wyoming during World War II who peacefully passed away on February 18, 2009 were held on February 26 at Fukui Mortuary "Chapel in the Garden" officiated by Rev.Clifford Ishigaki.

Mrs. Tomoike was an avid bowler of 50 years, a devotee of crossword puzzles who also loved baking, sushi making and eating sweets. Beloved wife of
Yutaka "Tom" Tomoike for 40 years; mother of Bruce Paul (Erika) Tomoike;
grandmother of Lauren Aiko, Valerie Aki, and Natalie Reiko Tomoike; sister of Johnny Kato, Yuki (Violet) Kato, Mineo Kato. Miyako Wada and Isao (Mary) Kato. Predeceased by Miyoko (Min) Hanaya. Also survived by many other relatives.
