Ernest Aaron Martinez, a 56 year old California born resident of Beverly Hills, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2022 with his wife Carol Peppler by his side. He is directly survived by his wife: Carol Lynn Peppler; his mother: Irene Scarlet; his sisters: Gina Martinez and Rene Hall. He is also survived by other relatives: Irene's husband: Edward Shackleford; Gina's husband: Gary Doane; Rene's husband: Jim Hall; his brothers-in-law: Chris Peppler and Alan Peppler; his niece: Bea Peppler and nephews: Juno Peppler and Shane Hall; his sisters-in-law: Yukari Peppler and Megumi Peppler; and many other relatives from the Scarlet, Greenwood and Kammerman families. He was preceded in death by his father: Ernesto Martinez.
Aaron was a happy, fun-loving person who lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed camping, hiking and traveling all over the world. He had a passion for building our 'retreat' in Bodfish from scratch. He also had a love of learning and teaching. Aaron helped countless people over the course of his career with their financial planning. He helped everybody that crossed his path throughout his lifetime. He will be greatly missed by many.
Aaron served in the Navy from 1984-1988. While in the Navy he was an aviation electronics technician. His last duty of assignment and major command was the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) program. He then completed his Bachelors of Science at the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and his Masters of Science in Tax Law/Taxation at Cal State Northridge. Aaron was a supporter of his Alma Mater-The Haas School of Business at Berkeley and volunteered on the alumni board which included a period of time where he was the Los Angeles Chapter President.
He was a Certified Financial Planner, FINRA Licensed with Series 6, 7, 63, 65, 24 Licenses, an Enrolled Agent with the IRS, and a Life Agent with the CA Dept of Insurance. Aaron was a Master Tax Advisor/ Local Media Spokesperson for H&R Block.
During the last year, Aaron fulfilled his desire to be baptized Catholic at the Church of the Good Shepherd.
Visitation and open casket viewing will be held on Saturday January 29, 10:00 a.m - 10:55 a.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd of Beverly Hills, 504 N. Roxbury Drive, Beverly Hills, 90210 with a closed casket funeral mass that will start at 11:00 a.m. promptly. After 11:00 a.m. the casket will be closed and will no longer be available for open viewing.
A graveside burial will follow the funeral mass at Resurrection Cemetery, 966 Potrero Grande Drive, Rosemead CA 91770.
