Private family service for the late Shizuko Matsubara, 101-year-old resident of Los Angeles who passed away on January 14, 2013 at Keiro Nursing Home, was held on Friday, February 15, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Santa Monica, CA with Rev. John Iwohara from Venice Hongwanji Buddhist Temple officiating. She is survived by her brother, Masami Mike Shintaku; sisters-in-law, Hisayo and Yasuko Shintaku, Shizue Okimura; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
